Foster Homes Needed

Currently the Taos Animal Shelter is having to use outside kennels to house adult dogs – over 100 now in the shelter. We are advertising a major discount in Thursdays paper at $20.00 for all adult dogs. Unfortunately Taos County has increased our intake by 20% over the last year. To add to our problems our donations are down considerably in the first four months of the year. Please – if you can foster now is the time.

Angel Fire Visitors Center News

Angel Fire Visitors CenterRun For The Wall Nears Angel Fire

We have been informed that the Run for the Wall motorcycle riders will be coming into Angel Fire at approximately 4:30 pm today, May 20, 2011.

Join us as the community welcomes these riders at the intersection of US Hwy 64 and NM Hwy 434 (the blinking light). Be sure to bring your flags to wave them on and welcome them to our community!

The Riders will go directly to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park before entering Angel Fire or going on to Eagle Nest for the evening. They will reassemble tomorrow morning early to continue their ride to Washington, DC for Memorial Day ceremonies.

Potluck Dinner At Eagle Nest

There is a potluck dinner planned set for tonight (Friday, May 20, 2011) at the Eagle Nest Senior Center to honor the Run for the Wall riders. If you would like to participate, there is still a large need for food to be delivered to the Senior Center between 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm. Serving the riders and well-wishers will begin at 6:30 pm.
