Keller Williams Red Day

red-day-01By Jo Mixon

Last week I was asked to participate in Keller Williams annual Red Day. Along with twenty-one other people, I rolled up my sleeves, got down in the dirt, pulled weeds, planted flowers, and earned the t-shirt! Together with the Angel Fire Garden Club and the Village of Angel Fire Proud Committee this group of residents transformed the median on North Angel Fire Road. Even the rain didn’t deter the determination of the workers!

What is Red Day? RED Day (Renew, Energize and Donate) is an annual initiative dedicated to celebrating Keller Williams Realty’s year-round commitment to improving their local communities. Each year, in May, tens of thousands of associates from across the United States and Canada participate in a wide range of projects, devoting their time to renewing and energizing aspects of the neighborhoods in which they serve. RED Day initiatives run the gamut: From rebuilding homes, refurbishing local parks, giving to local food shelters, hosting blood drives, beautifying beaches and so much more. Projects are chosen by each individual market center based on a need they see within their own community.

Tara Chisum, Qualifying Broker, says, “We are called the Power of Teamwork. There main concepts of naming our group The Power of Teamwork are that we want our clients to experience the Power of Teamwork while reaching their real estate goals, our team experiences The Power of Teamwork through a culture of synergy and gratitude in the workplace, and our community experiences the Power of Teamwork through a culture of contribution and appreciation.” She went on to say, “Red Day is an example of how the community experiences The Power of Teamwork. We are passionate about living in Angle Fire and we believe in giving back to our community. In Keller Williams we call it ‘give where you live’. Red Day is a world- wide Keller Williams event where over 150K Realtors stop doing business for one day to volunteer in their community. This is one of the reasons I’m proud to be a part of the world-wide Keller Williams organization. The company is more than just Real Estate Services, it’s about living and doing business with a greater purpose.”

The Angel Fire Keller Williams Power of Teamwork team consists of Tara Chisum, Stuart Hamilton, Stephanie Hamilton, Lisa Mitchell, Amy Sime, Chasity Bonney, and Johnnese Turri. They would like to invite you to visit their new location at 3365 Mountain View Boulevard next door to the Visitor’s Center.

Book Signing & Launch With Rosalie Turner & The Juliets

the-winding-roadThe book, The Winding Road, which features Angel Fire, was a group writing effort by the Juliets, a group of writers who meet for breakfast every Tuesday morning. The weekly group shifts in size, but there are 26 women in all. The main plot of the book was created and written by Juliet member and noted author, Rosalie Turner. The ladies in the Tuesday Breakfast Group came up with the characters and subplots. Any resemblance to any real person is purely coincidental. Book sale profits will be donated to local charities: Always Loving Mankind Food Pantry (ALMS), the Backpack Program thru United Church of Angel Fire and the Shuter Library.

When: Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Where: Angel Fire Chamber of Commerce, Centro Plaza, 3407 Mountain View Boulevard

Come by to get the first peek!

THE WINDING ROAD focuses on a small mountain community in northern New Mexico, a resort area known for skiing, golf, hiking, and relaxation. A tragic accident on the pass leaves a man dead and a woman injured, unable to remember any details of the accident. The Tuesday Breakfast Group finds itself involved in the circumstances of the accident as well as in several mysteries that are occurring. One member of the group, who also had been dating the man killed, is the last witness to see the couple and she must testify as to which one was driving. She recalls it one way until a bizarre set of circumstances reveals that it was just the opposite – or was it?
