Stan Samuels has been a member of the Angel Fire Chamber of Commerce for twenty-four years plus he owns six businesses that are all Chamber members. His newest Chamber member business is his bakery/cafe. He had leased his bakery building out for a several years. When the manager cut her lease short and left town last December, Stan decided not to lease it out again. This time he would run it himself. He changed the name, hired a manager, got lots of help from his North Country staff and did just that!

The Bakery & Café @ Angel Fire is now open seven days a week serving breakfast and lunch. The pastries are freshly baked, the coffee hot and the service is attentive. The same highly qualified staff remains, including the cooks, so you can expect the same great full breakfast and lunch menus with a few delicious tweaks here and there. The best change I’ve heard is, they will serve breakfast all day! I don’t know how many times I’ve gone to a café hungry for breakfast, only to be told they only serve breakfast until 11:00 and it is 11:15. Breakfast at lunch, yeah! They will also feature specials three times a week and random specials throughout the week on face book.

Stan got serious and asked his customers, “How can we make this a better restaurant?” He received several answers and has started making changes. Not only has he listened to his customer’s suggestions about making the food even more satisfying, he is also remodeling the décor.

He has added a window to the back dining room, with another one soon to be fitted. The patio is receiving an update that will make it fully functional this summer. Plans to have live music on the patio are underway. You will then have the choice to dine inside or dine outside. Stan and his staff want to make the bakery/café, “A place where the locals meet and greet,” as stated in the Sangre de Cristo Chronicle by manager James Prichard. A place where everyone will feel comfortable to stay awhile. Bring your board games, computers, or cards. You will be welcomed with a smile, homemade food, fresh bakery items and free Wi-Fi. Make it a priority to check them out!
