Controlled Burn On Palo Flechado Pass

The USFS will be conducting a prescribed burn on Palo Flachado pass beginning October 10, weather permitting. They would like to know if our community would like to hold a public meeting before the burn.

There will also be an information booth at the bottom of the pass during the burn.

Please contact Chief John Murtagh at 575-377-3347.

NMDOT Surveying

Inquiring Minds Want to Know

We have had many people asking us at the Chamber what the NMDOT was doing over the summer, marking and surveying on Mountain View Blvd/Hwy 434. This is a response to an email when Michael Turri asked the question.

Good afternoon Michael,

We will be starting a design for a Pavement Rehabilitation Project for next summer. The survey crew has been surveying this section of roadway. From the Junction with US 64 through the Village of Angel Fire. This will be more of a permanent measure versus the band aid that was done a couple of years ago.
Thanks and take care.

Stage Blue Water Restrictions Still In Effect

There is a Blue Flag on the building at the Village of Angel Fire Municipal building. Do you know what that means? Angel Fire is under Stage Blue Water Restrictions (explained below) and we have been for quite some time! I have to admit, I have not been as well informed as I should be on this matter and thought, maybe, I am not the only one. Therefore I decided to share this information.

Thanks, Jo
