This week’s featured “I Know Jo” business of the week is Espresso Lounge & Gallery.
As many of you know I love coffee. So when I was treated to an instructional tasting at Roxanne Wride’s new business, Espresso Lounge & Gallery it made me very happy! She told me that her idea of opening a coffee shop came about because when she lived in California, she was use to having a place where she would meet her girlfriends for coffee to chit chat and she misses that. Now she has created a unique Shabby Chic atmosphere with the hopes of becoming that social meeting place for Angel Fire.
Located in her former Stanza Bianca Photography Studio at 12 Crestview Dr. in the Cove Arts Building, the Espresso Lounge is open 8:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Then again from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Tuesday thru Sunday. Roxanne still plans to do photography shoots by reservation and will maintain her website, but the Espresso Lounge & Gallery will now occupy the studio. She will feature her oil paintings and some of her framed photography for sale at the coffee shop. Mostly she will be serving top brand freshly ground coffee drinks. This includes Espresso, Latte, Cappuccino, and Chai Tea. She’s hired Jeremiah Sutton as her Barista extraordinare. Jeremiah trained and ran a Star Bucks in San Diego. He taught me how detailed each shot of espresso is prepared. Then showed me how meticulously each drink is put together, down to the temperature of the frothing.
As a sweet treat they are serving designer cup cakes prepared by Victoria Trujillo. Starting next week they are going to serve homemade soup and salad for lunch. Here’s the twist, all of their soups will come from local residents recipes. One of mine will be featured next week. It is my famous Chicken Enchilada Soup! If you want your soup recipe served, give Roxanne a call, you could be the featured soup of the week and she’ll give you the credit!
Beer and wine are also available. This means if you want a Mimosa, they have it! And they have free Wi-Fi.
Roxanne moved to Angel Fire so that she and her 3 children would be closer to family. She fell in love with the summers while visiting her sister. Though she prefers the sunnier days, she now has opened a place to help warm you up on the cold winter days!
