Dawn Guenthner, RN Allegria Medi-Spa In The Mountains
I love hangy thingies such as chandeliers, wind chimes, and sparkling doo-dads, but I really, really do NOT like the hangy, saggy neck lines, chin jowls, and under-eye baggies that seem to result from my aging process. Lucky for me (and you), we have a Chamber member who specializes in the rejuvenation of skin and spirit. Dawn Guenthner, RN, sole proprietor of Allegria-Medi Spa in the Mountains, is an expert in tightening, pigment, and wrinkle reduction. This week I was treated to the first of three laser facial treatments that will tighten some of my personal hangy places and make me feel better about myself. After having spent the time as I did with Dawn, I learned this is exactly what her goals are – to help people feel better about themselves, to like the way they look, to relax and enjoy who they are and maybe even gain a little sass and smile!
When I arrived at Allegria-Medi Spa in the Mountains, Dawn immediately sat me in a fabulous massage chair, and I filled out a medical questionnaire while I relaxed. I was pleasantly surprised to learn about Dawn’s extensive training. I immediately knew I was in good hands! As stated on her web page biography:
Dawn is a registered nurse and moved to Angel Fire in 1998. She was employed in the Holy Cross ER for approximately 10 years before taking a position in Colorado Springs with Briargate Surgery/Skin Care Center. She worked for 4 1/2 years with this group in pre-op, OR and pediatric dental cases, including cataract, cornea transplant, upper and lower blepharoplasties, and face-lifts. Dawn trained on the Syneron laser she currently uses with certified Syneron trainers, attended several Beauty Boot camps at The Broadmoor, put on by some of the top physicians in the laser and dermatology field. She also was fortunate enough to work with Dr. Jack Zamora, an associate professor for Boston College, who is a national trainer for injectables and laser liposuction. Her current Medical Director is Lesa Fraker, MD, PhD from Vanderbilt University.
I chose a non-ablative (yes, that’s a real word) laser treatment that helps to remodel collagen, while also helping to rejuvenate and return a more youthful glow to skin that has had sun, stress, age and dry climate damage. I can tell there is a difference, especially on my neck area, after just one treatment. I am excited to see how much better I will look and feel after the third treatment! I promise to post before and after photos then!
Along with the facial laser treatments for tightening, pigment, and matrix for wrinkle and indention reduction, Dawn also provides laser hair reduction, laser vein treatments, enzymatic seaweed facials, retinoic acid peels, Botox, Juvaderm, scalp treatment massages, manicures and pedicures!
