New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez will be at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park today Monday (June 30) to discuss her rural cemetery initiative. The governor will speak at the memorial’s amphitheater at 2:30 p.m.
The governor selected Angel Fire as one of four sites for the rural military cemeteries in April. In May, Angel Fire Mayor Pro Tem Chuck Howe announced that the cemetery would be located on 10 acres south of the memorial. The village of Angel Fire formally donated land for the cemetery to the state on Thursday (June 19).
