SNOW… it’s what’s in the forecast! Excitement is in the air as we head into the winter season. Wax up your skis and boards, pull out your winter gear and plan to be skiing/snowboarding down the mountain at the Angel Fire Resort on Opening Day, December 12, 2014!

Mark your November and December calendars because you don’t want to miss any of these upcoming activities and events:

Thursday, November 6 – Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the First National Bank Community Room. This BAH is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Angel Fire. Come enjoy networking, food, fun and door prizes.

Tuesday, November 18 – Quarterly Chamber Membership Breakfast Meeting from 8:00 am to 9:00 am in the foyer of Centro Plaza by the Chamber office. All Chamber members are invited to join us for free breakfast burritos and coffee and a quick informative meeting. Welcome speaker Don Bustos from SBDC-Luna College. His talk is entitled “Show me the Money”.

Friday, November 21 – Deadline for Holiday Lighting Contest Entries

There are two categories: Business and Residential.Awards for each category will be 1st Place, judged by area judges, People’s Choice, judged by you! Judging will take place from Wednesday December 3 and Monday December 8. The winners will be announced at December 8 at the BAH to be held at Sunset Grille.

Saturday, November 22 – Enchanted Christmas Tree Auction and Dance

The Rotary Club of Angel Fire is co-sponsoring with the Sangre de Cristo Chronicle this night of enchantment at the Grande. 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, dance to the music of the Damn Band and place your bids for fully decorated Christmas trees that will benefit various area non-profit organizations.

Thursday, November 27 – Thanksgiving Dinner at Elements, Enjoy a special Thanksgiving feast from 11:00 pm to 2:00 pm in Elements at the Country Club. Reservations are required due to limited seating. Please call 575-377-3055.

Saturday, November 29 – Calling All Flakes Festival, Help call in another great snow season! Everyone is invited to this event now run by Team Angel Fire Ski & Snowboard. This event will be held on the land behind Village Hall starting at dusk. There will also be a team sponsored ski swap on the same day, location to be announced soon.

Tuesday, December 2 – Garden Club of Angel Fire Christmas Dinner, ask a member for details.

Monday, December 8 – Chamber of Commerce Holiday Business after Hours at the Sunset Grille from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm Welcome the winter season with Holiday spirit. Food, drinks, networking and door prizes. Join us as we announce the winners to the Holiday Decorating Contest.

Friday, December 12 – Opening Day of the Winter Season First day to ski or snowboard for the winter season!

Friday, December 12 – Moreno Valley Toy Run and Rotary Christmas Dinner- Held at Zebs Restaurant & Bar Dinner 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, advance tickets $30.00 per single or $50.00 per couple. Ticket includes dinner, Auction, and Dance admission. Silent auction from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. $10.00 at the door or bring a new toy valued $10.00 or more. Dance starts at 9:00 pm with music by The Damn Band. Door prizes from 7:00 pm to close.

Monday December 15 – Chamber of Commerce Christmas Dinner and Silent Auction at The Pub n’grub from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
Join us for our largest fund raiser of the year. Tickets in advance $30.00 per person. Awesome silent auction items, delicious dinner by Chef Jarred Johnson.

Friday, December 19 – Chamber of Commerce Business after Hours Holiday Bash at The Trailhead- 5:30 pm to TBD. Party in the ski and snowboard season with live music, food, drinks, and door prizes.

Wednesday, December 24 – Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks, Bundle up the family and join us at the base of the ski mountain for our annual Torchlight Parade followed by Fireworks. And keep an eye out – Santa & Mrs. Claus have been known to join in the festivities! Thanks to the Village of Angel Fire and Angel Fire Resort for sponsoring this fun event.
