Last week I was asked to participate in Keller Williams annual Red Day. Along with twenty-one other people, I rolled up my sleeves, got down in the dirt, pulled weeds, planted flowers, and earned the t-shirt! Together with the Angel Fire Garden Club and the Village of Angel Fire Proud Committee this group of residents transformed the median on North Angel Fire Road. Even the rain didn’t deter the determination of the workers!
What is Red Day? RED Day (Renew, Energize and Donate) is an annual initiative dedicated to celebrating Keller Williams Realty’s year-round commitment to improving their local communities. Each year, in May, tens of thousands of associates from across the United States and Canada participate in a wide range of projects, devoting their time to renewing and energizing aspects of the neighborhoods in which they serve. RED Day initiatives run the gamut: From rebuilding homes, refurbishing local parks, giving to local food shelters, hosting blood drives, beautifying beaches and so much more. Projects are chosen by each individual market center based on a need they see within their own community.
Tara Chisum, Qualifying Broker, says, “We are called the Power of Teamwork. There main concepts of naming our group The Power of Teamwork are that we want our clients to experience the Power of Teamwork while reaching their real estate goals, our team experiences The Power of Teamwork through a culture of synergy and gratitude in the workplace, and our community experiences the Power of Teamwork through a culture of contribution and appreciation.” She went on to say, “Red Day is an example of how the community experiences The Power of Teamwork. Red Day is a world- wide Keller Williams event where over 150K Realtors stop doing business for one day to volunteer in their community. This is one of the reasons I’m proud to be a part of the world-wide Keller Williams organization. The company is more than just Real Estate Services, it’s about living and doing business with a greater purpose.”
